Passwords
Pages in this article
Passwords are the first layer of security on WiLake. Make sure your users use a long, hard to guess password or passphrase. Preferably, a password manager (like Bitwarden, 1Password or KeePassXC) should be used to store passwords, instead of memorising them or writing them down in a piece of paper or a file.
Password rotation
Password rotation (forcing users to change their passwords with certain frequency) is not recommended, since users will tend to make small modifications to the existing password, giving no real advantage and representing an inconvenience for the user.
Password complexity
While WiLake does not enforce complicated password rules, it is recommended to use long, random passwords. A password manager can help with this. Passwords should be at least 12 characters long, containing a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols.
